FAQs

I’m interested in getting some design help, where do I start?

Great! Send me an email at krista@kmillerdesignco.com and we can discuss your project, my services and determine if it’s a fit for both of us.

I’d like to move forward, what is the next step?

We will schedule an initial consult for me to meet with you on site. This meeting is up to two hours where we discuss your project goals, brainstorm ideas, and determine the scope of work. I will follow up with an email summary of our visit with my initial recommendations.

Initial Consult: $350.00

Once we establish the scope of work I will put together an estimate of time and design fees that will be involved.

What about purchasing furniture and other items, do you get a discount?

Trade discounts vary by vendor and I will always work hard to get the best price for my clients. Sometimes my trade price will be a substantial savings, other times it will pencil out to be higher than a retail sale price. Client approval is always required in final cost including purchase price, freight and delivery.

Do I need a budget?

Yes! I understand that not everyone is comfortable establishing a “budget” , but having an idea of what you want to invest is important. There are $400 sofas and $10,000 sofas, knowing what price range makes sense for your project saves time in sourcing, which ultimately saves money.

When are you available? Do you work evenings and weekends?

It’s important to me to give my clients the attention they deserve.  I understand your project is something you’ve often dreamed about for months, if not years, and want to take the time to get it right. I limit the number of projects I’m working simultaneously, so there may be a waiting period before I am able to commit to yours.

I prefer to keep a Monday-Friday 8-5pm work week, but will make some exceptions if necessary.

How do I pay you?

Payment for our initial consult is due at our first meeting. After the consultation, we will work together to determine a scope of work and I will put together a design fee proposal based on your project.

I accept cash, checks, cash app via Venmo. Credit Cards are accepted, but may incur a 3% service charge.

Don’t hesitate to contact me with any further questions!
